Apple Cinnamon Biscuits with Brown Sugar Honey Glaze
When you’re baking the biscuits, your kitchen will fill with the warm aroma of apple cinnamon.
It’s the perfect smell to awaken the senses.
If you’re making these during the fall, it’s easy perfect to take them outside for a crisp autumn breakfast before it gets too cold.
They are perfect to make on a weekend for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients you need to make Apple Biscuits with Brown Sugar Honey Glaze
Note that there are two sets of ingredients, one for the biscuits and one for the glaze.
Ingredients for the Apple Cinnamon Biscuits:
- 4 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tbsp. Baking Powder
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 2 tsp. Sugar
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. Cinnamon
- 2 tsp. Apple pie spice
- 1 cup Cold Butter
- 1/2 cup Grated Apple
- 1 cup Buttermilk, Chilled
Ingredients for the Brown Sugar Glaze
- 3 tbsp Unsalted Butter, Chilled
- 3 tbsp Honey
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp brown sugar
How to make the apple cinnamon biscuits
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
In a large bowl add your whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt, cinnamon and apple pie spices.
Dice your chilled butter and add it to the flour along with the grated apples.
Blend them all together using your hands or a pastry cutter.
Once crumbs begin to form it is blended.
Slowly stir in the buttermilk.
Using a large cutting board coat it with flour and coat your hands in the flour.
Sprinkle a bit of flour on the dough ball so its not so sticky and wet.
Place the dough on your cutting board and knead the dough a few times.
Mold the dough into a oval shape.
Pat it out to be about an inch thick.
Start to fold the dough ball over and over this creates the layers.
I fold mine like and envelope. Do the sides first then top to bottom.
Pat the dough ball down and get it back to the oval shape.
Repeat this process a total of 5 times.
Using a medium sized circle cookie cutter, cut the biscuits.
Place them on an un-greased baking sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Directions for making the brown sugar glaze:
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add in the honey, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt.
Reduce heat to low to simmer until the biscuits are done.
Brush the biscuits with the brown sugar glaze.
