One of my favorite things about the Blackberry Fireball Whiskey Fizz is how pretty it is.
This drink appears and tastes wonderfully festive, making it a great Christmas cocktail.
The garnish of blackberries on a stem of rosemary brings to mind evergreen trees weighed down by heavy pine cones against a background of snow.
It also reminds me of fresh berries ripening on the vine on a hot summer day.
There’s really no bad time to enjoy this delicious Fireball cocktail.
Sip on a Blackberry Fireball Whiskey Fizz
Although it can be tricky to find fresh blackberries in many places in the winter months, they really are an important aspect of this delicious cocktail.
They add a fresh element to the strong cinnamon flavors, and a depth of color to the beverage, as well.
And don’t let this Blackberry Fireball Whiskey Fizz fool you into thinking that it is only a Christmas drink.
This cocktail is wonderful year-round, in a variety of settings.
It’s a wonderful choice for cinnamon lovers who want an interesting twist on Fireball.
The vibrant color looks great in spring and summer party settings and occasions from Valentine’s Day to Mother’s Day to the 4th of July.
A cocktail this good is a gift any time of year!
Enjoy a great low-calorie cocktail to serve for the holidays
This drink on its own is already a reasonably low-calorie cocktail since it has only 151 calories.
But if you are watching your calories and want to make a skinny blackberry whiskey fizz, you can do that too.
An easy way to knock down some of the calories is to use diet ginger ale.
You can reduce each drink by 20 calories by switching to diet.
If you want to further reduce the calories, you can use two ounces of whiskey for the recipe rather than 3.
You can knock off about 70 more calories if you do that.

How to make a Blackberry Whiskey Fizz with Fireball
The thing that makes this fireball recipe absolutely delicious is mashing the fresh blackberries.
You’ll want to do that first.
Put your fresh blackberries in the bottom of a mixing glass.
Add about a tablespoon of water and mash them with a muddling stick.
Then you’ll strain the juice into another glass.
To do so, place a mesh strainer over the top of the glass and pour the blackberries and juice through the strainer.
The strainer will catch the blackberry pulp.
To get more juice out of the berries, you may want to press the pulp with a spoon against the side of the strainer.
Pour your Fireball or other favorite cinnamon whiskey into two glasses.
I like to use about an ounce and a half in each glass but you may adjust it.
Pour half of the blackberry juice into each glass and give the mixture a gentle stir.
Top off the drink with ginger ale. Then garnish with a rosemary spear with a fresh blackberry.
How to make a blackberry and rosemary cocktail garnish:
To make the garnish, select a rosemary spear that’s about 5-6 inches long.
Make sure the rosemary spear’s tip is pointed; it it isn’t, cut it so that it is.
You may strip the leaves below where you wish the blackberry to rest, but you don’t have to do that.
I do a bit of both.
I strip the very ends, but leave enough so that some of the rosemary leaves will rest in the beverage.
That adds a bit more dimension to the drink’s flavor, and it ups the drink’s aromatics.
Poke the rosemary through the blackberry until the blackberry will rest just above the height of your beverage glass.
You want the weight of the rosemary to be bottom heavy so that the spear doesn’t fall out of the glass when you add the blackberry.
Add it to the drink, and you have a delicious, aromatic, gorgeous blackberry whiskey. Enjoy!
