For Halloween, why not try our Crazy Vampire Bat Cocktail?

It’s a delicious, low-calorie orange mango soda and rum cocktail.

So if you need an easy, crowd pleasing cocktail for Halloween…

It doesn’t get any easier- there’s only two ingredients!

And it’s only 67 calories.

One of my favorite things about Halloween is how you can make the simplest recipes sound creepy and fun with just minor alterations.

A perfect example is my Spooky Apple And Mango Spider Cider, which goes from simple to creepy just by inviting a few adorable plastic spiders to the party.

Enjoy an orange mango soda and rum cocktail

This Halloween cocktail is much the same.

The basic drink consists of two main ingredients: rum and Cascade Ice’s Orange and Mango Soda.

Add some zing to your glass your glass with a bit of sweet, sticky, and completely delicious Grenadine dripping down the sides.

Suddenly you have a cocktail that people will be talking about long after your Halloween party is over!

If you’re not a fan of alcohol – or you are making this beverage for your kids’ Halloween party, I even include some great ways to make a tasty and refreshing mocktail with this recipe while keeping the creepy-factor thoroughly intact.

And if you are watching your calories, you’ll be pleased to know that you can enjoy this cocktail (or mocktail) without completely blowing your eating plan.

Happy Halloween!

A two ingredient Halloween cocktail – only 67 calories too!

The Crazy Vampire Bat Cocktail is so fun for Halloween

Get ready to bat your eyelashes because the Crazy Vampire Bat Cocktail is ready for Halloween!

It’s perfect for Halloween parties and even better, it only has 67 calories!

I’m a fan of keeping the calories and carbs low on my cocktails, so for this particular recipe, I used Cascade Ice’s orange mango soda.

Cascade Ice is a zero calorie beverage, so if you serve it without the grenadine rim, it’s only 65 calories per serving.

Substitutions for the Cascade Ice

If Cascade Ice isn’t available in your area, you can also substitute an orange flavored Sparkling Ice.

Or if you’re not seeking a low calorie drink, you can even substitute a Fanta or Sunkist.

Just be mindful that substitutions may change your calorie and carb intake.

There are also some yummy orange and mango or carrot and mango juices out there as well that make a delicious substitute for Cascade Ice.

Just be mindful that those may add an additional 100 or so calories per serving.

Ingredients for the orange mango soda and rum cocktail

  • Light Rum
  • Orange Mango soda
  • Grenadine, optional to rim the glass with fake blood

Make the crazy vampire bat as a Mocktail instead

To enjoy the crazy vampire bat cocktail without alcohol, all you need to do is leave out the light rum.

You’ll really want to do something to kick up the orange mango soda a notch.

Otherwise, it’s just orange soda.

How to add fake blood to your glass

Well, we’re not really using fake blood of course.

We’re using grenadine.

It stands in just perfectly for fake blood on a cocktail glass.

If you want to add some pizzazz to your glass, here’s what you do.

Pour a bit of grenadine on a small plate.

Invert your glass and dip it in the grenadine to get the fake blood effect.

You can let some drizzle down the inside of the glass to the bottom.

Then add an ounce of grenadine in the base of the glass, pour the orange drink over the back of a spoon to layer the drink.

You can even fill the glass with maraschino cherries before adding the orange drink if you really want to step up the mocktail.

Add a decorative straw, and maybe thread a pair of plastic vampire teeth over the straw for fun!

How to make the crazy vampire bat cocktail

Chill your martini or wine glass.

In a mixing glass, combine your rum and orange mango drink.

Optional: Rim your glass with grenadine and let it run down the inner sides for a fake blood look.

You may serve the drink chilled or over ice.

If you’re using ice, fill your beverage glass and pour the drink.  Enjoy!
