A Cucumber Lime Vodka Collins is a great twist on the classic Tom Collins cocktail recipe.

Most people have heard of a Tom Collins – a simple and clean cocktail that tastes like lemonade spiked with gin.

This Cucumber Lime Vodka Collins is a great alternative for anyone who prefers vodka over gin.

And if you prefer your vodka cocktails not too sweet, this boozy beverage is sure to please!

A cocktail sits on a wood platter on an outdoor patio table.
A simple, low-calorie drink is perfect to sip all summer. Crisp and refreshing, it doesn’t need to be fancy to be just right.

Cucumber might not be the first flavor that comes to mind when you think about a cocktail.

But it is actually quite wonderful, with a light and refreshing taste.

Having an assortment of tasty cocktail recipes on hand for all your special Summer occasions is a great idea.

And shaker recipes like this cucumber vodka drink are super simple to create for your guests.

They are quick and easy, giving you more time to just hang out and have fun!

Is this cucumber Collins low carb or keto?

I enjoy making this recipe with Smirnoff’s Zero Sugar Infusions Cucumber Lime Vodka.

It adds just enough sweetness without adding carbs.

Leave out the simple syrup, and this Cucumber Lime Vodka Collins is low-carb and Keto-friendly.

The great thing about making a drink with Smirnoff’s Zero Sugar Infusions is that it has 0 carbs and only 72 calories in an ounce and a half serving.

Most vodkas average around 65 calories an ounce.

While that’s also nice and low, you can shave off a few calories if you’re counting them using the Infusions.

Using the Infusions also makes it really easy for a home bartender to make a vodka Collins from scratch.

When you make a drink with one of the Zero Sugar Infusions, your drink making is really quick and simple.

You don’t necessarily have to slice a lot of fruit or veg, and there’s no fancy or weird, hard-to-find ingredients needed to make a great cocktail.

Just mix and serve!

A sprig of fresh mint rests in the mouth of a cocktail glass on a blue napkin.
Be sure to gently slap the mint to release the oils when you garnish the cocktail. It’s always fun to sip a drink that engages more than one of the senses.

What’s the difference between a Tom Collins and a Vodka Collins?

That’s a great question!

And the answer is that the drinks are made quite similarly, simply swapping gin for vodka.

I bet you can guess which one has the vodka!

That’s right, the Tom Collins is traditionally made with gin.

Typically a Collins drink is one that’s both sweet and sour.

In a lot of bars, they’ll use a commercially prepared sweet and sour mix in a Collins.

We’ve lightened that up for you here to save on calories with a nice clean cocktail.

You get the sour from the lime sparkling water, and the Infusions is slightly sweet.

Optionally, if you like your Collins a tad bit sweeter, you can add a touch of simple syrup.

It’s great with or without it.

It’s up to your taste buds.

Can I make a vodka collins with cucumber vodka?

And of course, if you prefer gin to serve your cucumber collins with cucumber vodka or with regular vodka.

Or you can even make it with your favorite gin more like a traditional Collins drink.

Ffeel free to make the swap.

We’re just partial to a yummy cucumber lime vodka drink.

If you experiment, be sure to let us know what swaps you made and how you liked them.

We love to hear all about variations on a cocktail classic.

Ingredients:

Ingredients to make a Cucumber Lime Vodka Collins.
You’ll need Smirnoff Zero Infusions Cucumber & Lime, limes, mint, sparkling water, and optionally, some simply syrup.
  • Cucumber Lime Vodka, chilled – we used Smirnoff’s Zero Sugar Infusions
  • Lime flavored sparkling water – we used Waterloo Lime
  • Fresh mint, for garnish
  • Lime wheels, for garnish
  • Optional: Cucumber Slices, for garnish
  • Optional: Simple syrup, if you desire a sweetener

To make the drink, you will need: a cutting board and bar knife, a cocktail shaker, a measuring cup or jigger, a bar spoon, and a beverage glass.

We like to use a tall glass.

If you don’t have a Collins glass, we recommend using whatever glass you have that is tall and narrow.

What about serving it sugar-free?

Adding the simple syrup is optional.

You may also substitute the sweetener of your choice.

Stevia drops work great in this recipe too, added to your taste, of course.

Can I make this drink without alcohol?

Sure!

What you’ll end up with is a nice infused sparkling water, similar to our Cucumber Mint Infused Water.

But this one will be flavored with cucumbers and lime.

So it’s kind of like a virgin mojito – a faux-jito, if you will.

Simply add slices of fresh cucumber and lime to your lime flavored sparkling water to take it to the next level.

If you prefer to do so with still water, that’s delicious too.

You will, however, have a touch less lime flavor since the sparkling water adds a touch of flavor.

Instructions:

Begin by slicing your cucumber and limes.

Fill your cocktail shaker or jar partially with ice.

I like to leave enough room in the shaker for the ingredients to move well.

If you want to add simple syrup or another sweetener, do so now.

Should you decide to add a little simple syrup to the drink, do so now.

Add the cucumber and lime slices, and the vodka to the shaker and shake well.

You want it to really be thoroughly mixed.

About 20 seconds should do it.

Add the Smirnoff Zero Infusions to the cocktail shaker or jar.

Fill your beverage glass with ice and lime and cucumber slices.

Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the mixture over the ice.

Top with sparkling water.

Top the drink with lime sparkling water. We’ve used Waterloo, but your favorite sparkling water will work great.

Garnish with a sprig of mint and serve.

Top the drink with a sprig of fresh mint. It really adds that last final touch. To get the most from your mint, be sure to give it a gentle slap against your palm before placing it in the drink. That will help release the oil from the leaves to make the drink more aromatic.
