Sipping on a Georgia Peach Margarita is a summertime delight!
I have to admit, I get very happy during “peach season” and start craving this Georgia Peach Margarita.
When I see those fresh peaches hit the market and I can’t help but smile, thinking about all the delicious things I can do with them.
Enjoy a Georgia Peach Margarita made with fresh peaches
Sweet, fuzzy, and so delicious, peaches make everything better.
And cocktails like this one are the perfect example of how tasty and versatile this wonderful fruit can be.
One of my favorite things about the Georgia Peach Margarita is that it is made with fresh peaches.
Unlike typical frozen peach margaritas, this cocktail is a bit sweeter, a lot fresher, and much more flavorful.
Combined with Jose Cuervo gold, peach nectar, and just enough lime juice to off-set the sweet, the Georgia Peach Margarita tastes like someone poured Summertime into a glass, all blended up with ice and ready to enjoy.
This cheerful cocktail is the perfect guest refreshment at any poolside gathering, backyard barbecue, or hanging out at the beach.
Whip up a batch for every summer and fall event from the Fourth of July to Labor Day.
This peachy delight is welcome anytime – anywhere!
Is this drink recipe like the peach margarita at Texas Roadhouse?
That’s a great question, especially since that’s a mighty fine margarita recipe.
And the answer is — sort of.
Texas Roadhouse makes theirs with frozen peaches where ours uses fresh peaches and peach nectar.
There’s a difference in texture using fresh peaches instead of frozen ones.
And we think the freshness really comes through in our recipe.
But if you like theirs, you’ll like our recipe too!
Can you make different variations of this cocktail?
The great thing is that this recipe makes a really great base recipe for several different types of liquors.
For example, can you use Peach Schnapps instead of Triple Sec or Cointreau?
Yes, it will give you a touch more of that delicious peachy flavor rather than a hint of citrus.
Can you use this recipe to make a Crown Royal Peach Margarita?
Say what! A whisky margarita?
Yes – replace the tequila with Crown Royal Peach.
It tastes kind of like a peach whisky slushie at that point, and you can’t go wrong with that either.
Can I make this with peach flavored tequila?
Yes, but you don’t really need to.
There’s already a ton of yummy peach flavor coming from the peaches and peach nectar.
But if you do use peach flavored tequila, like Jose Cuervo’s 1800 Ultimate Peach Margarita, be sure to add the peach nectar a little at a time until it’s just right.
You don’t want to go overboard since the fresh peaches are doing the heavy lifting.
Ingredients
- Fresh Peaches
- Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
- Gold Tequila – we used Jose Cuervo
- Cointreau (or peach schnapps)
- Simple Syrup
- Peach Nectar
- Fresh Mint, for garnish
- Ice
To make the drink, you will also need: a blender, a measuring cup, a measuring spoon, mixing glass, cutting board, and knife.
Can I serve this drink without alcohol?
Yes, you can make this drink without alcohol, although it will be a little bit different.
What you’ll be making is a fresh peach smoothie.
You’ll want to leave out the tequila and the Cointreau.
You’ll need to make up the cup and a half loss in liquid.
To do that, you can use more peach nectar.
If you want to keep the calories down, it’s also nice to do a mix of half peach nectar, half no sugar added or sugar free lemonade.
How to make the drink
First, begin by measuring your liquid ingredients.
There are a few, so I like to measure each one and pour them into a mixing glass before adding them to the blender.
Leaving the skin on, slice the peaches into small chunks.
Now, you can remove the skins, but you don’t have to do that.
In your blender, add the liquid ingredients and the peaches.
Briefly pulse the blender to make sure that the liquors and the peach chunks are well mixed.
Then add ice to the blender and blend again.
Blend until the drink’s consistency is fairly smooth.
There may still be some small pieces of ice.
Pour into a beverage glass.
Garnish with a fresh peach slice and a sprig of mint.
And enjoy this delicious frozen peach cocktail!
