Did you know that the Green-Eyed Monster Martini is a cocktail classic?

It’s not just for Halloween!

But of course, it’s absolutely perfect for the spooky season.

Just add googly eyed marshmallows!

Are you a huge fan of Halloween?

Or maybe you just have a soft spot in your heart for monsters?

Either way, this Green-Eyed Monster Martini is perfect for you!

It tastes like a wonderful martini and is super fun and funky with the green coloring.

And you can even add some “spooky” monster eyeballs to stare up at you as you take your first sip.

A Green-Eyed Monster Martini, a classic for Halloween

Two green cocktails in martini glasses on a dark table next to a gourd.
Enjoy coconut, pineapple, and other fruity flavors? The Green-Eyed Monster martini is for you! This cocktail classic is perfect to enjoy year-round, but we love to add a fun garnish to it to serve it for Halloween.

All you need to do to make this drink even spookier is have a little dry ice putting up some “smoke” effect near your drink.

You can easily have this fun drink as an early Halloween drink.

It’s also a fun way to give parents an adult-friendly trick or treat drink, too!

Typically, being called a green-eyed monster means that someone might be jealous of something…

And if they’re missing out on this drink, that’s totally the truth.

Martinis are meant to be sipped, with your feet up, reminiscing about the day.

And what better way to have a fun and festive nightcap than by having monster eyes staring up at you, watching you enjoy each sip.

Have fun with this martini recipe because it’s mean to be enjoyed!

You can channel your love for monsters and quench your thirst, too.

Since the eyes of the monster are made from marshmallows, you can even finish over your drink with a fun and sweet treat!

Why you shouldn’t shake a martini?

We love James Bond, but not all martinis are meant to be shaken!

Some are blended up and poured while others might actually be strained.

Just because you’ve shaken martinis before doesn’t mean that it’s always the way it’s done.

As you can see from this martini recipe below, there’s no shaking involved!

You just need four simple ingredients and literally a few minutes of time!

Ingredients to a Green-Eyed Monster Martini

  • Midori melon liqueur
  • Coconut rum
  • Lime juice
  • Pineapple juice
  • Mini Marshmallows, optional for garnish
  • Chocolate syrup, optional for garnish

To make the drink, you’ll need: 2 mixing glasses, a bar spoon, and a measuring cup or jigger.

If you’re making the garnish too, you’ll also need cocktail picks.

If you like to put the lime in the coconut, and some pineapple and melon too, you’ll love this drink!

Can I make the drink without alcohol?

Yes, you can!

What you’ll do is replace the melon flavored liqueur with melon flavored syrup.

Since the syrup is sweeter than the liqueur, I like to add 1 tsp of syrup at a time, give it a small taste to see if I like it, and then adjust if needed.

It’s always easier to add more.

You’ll also leave out the coconut rum.

To get the yummy coconut flavor, I like to add a teaspoon of cream of coconut.

Cream of coconut is pretty thick, so I like to make sure that it’s come to room temperature before mixing the drink.

Since cream of coconut is thick, you may want to shake the mocktail version rather than stirring it.

Also, if you have a flash blender, you can give it a quick pulse, and that will mix the cream of coconut with the other ingredients really well.

How to Make a green-eyed monster martini

We like to serve this drink in a chilled martini glass.

If you like that too, be sure to chill your glasses in the freezer ahead of time.

If you really like it cold, you can also chill the liqueurs and juices in advance too.

Measure your liquid ingredients and them pour them in a mixing glass.

You’ll pour the drink back and forth between two glasses to chill the liquids.

Blend ingredients in a mixing glass.

Using a bar spoon, stir the ingredients until everything is well mixed.

Fill a second mixing glass with ice.

Pour the mixture over ice.

Put a cocktail strainer over the top of the glass and pour it into the martini glass.

How to make the eye ball garnish

A green-eyed monster martini is a classic cocktail recipe, and one that wasn’t originally created to be a Halloween drink.

But it’s just so perfect to serve for Halloween~

Especially when you make a fun eye ball cocktail garnish!

And they are so easy to make.

You can make these ahead of time too.

You’ll need two mini marshmallows per cocktail garnish you’re making.

Melt some chocolate and make a small dot on each marshmallow to make the pupil in the eyeball.

Then carefully thread the “eye balls” on a cocktail pick and place the cocktail pick on the glass.
