Oogie Boogie might be quite the bully to Santa Claus in the wonderful movie “A Nightmare Before Christmas”, but Oogie Boogie’s Halloween Punch is a real treat for adults.
Made with Kinky Apple and Melon Liquors, this deliciously sweet potion is a tasty surprise.
Spook your friends with Oogie Boogie’s Halloween Punch
You might not expect much cocktail perfection from a guy that’s basically a burlap sack filled with bugs.
But this cocktail delivers.
And it looks creepy enough for Oogie Boogie’s approval when you pour it into a glass rimmed with clumps of black sugar.
Oogie Boogie is a bit of a gambler.
But you won’t be taking a gamble when you serve this delicious Oogie Boogie Halloween Punch at parties, horror movie nights, and other spooky Halloween festivities.
This drink might even inspire your guests to start their own Santa Claus kidnapping plot in order to expand the Halloween season for a few months longer.
It’s also a great drink for Christmas!
For added fun, consider serving the Oogie Boogie Halloween Punch for Christmas, too!
If your family is anything like mine, there’s always a debate about whether The Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween or a Christmas movie.
I think it works great for both personally.
So when you’ve had a long night putting together toys and it’s time to eat those milk and cookies for Sandy Claus, maybe pour one out for Oogie Boogie too.
Ingredients you need to make Oogie Boogie’s Halloween Punch
- 1 oz Kinky Apple liquor
- 1 oz melon liquor
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 drop black dye
- 3 oz lemon sparkling water
How to make Oogie Boogie’s Halloween Punch
Pre-Step: Make the black sugar rim
Place sugar in a bowl and mix in black dye.
Wet rim of glass.
Roll glass in sugar.
Set aside.
Remember, this drink is an homage to Oogie Boogie, so you want it kind of messy rather than perfect.
To mix the drink:
In a mixing glass pour in melon liquor, apple liquor, and ice.
Add in lemon sparkling water to the top.
Stir.
Pour into glass with black sugar.
This allows the liquors to mix without knocking the black sugar into the glass.
Serve!

Hi, I’m Jennifer. I love to cook and entertain. I have a lot of fun sharing traditional food and drink recipes as well as putting a new spin on the classics. I strive to provide easy to make recipes that are perfect for the home cook, bartender and entertainer.
When you make this drink, I really like to serve it on a burlap coaster or tablecloth if you have them since Oogie Boogie wore, well, a burlap sack. It’s also fun to make a bunch of these drinks, put them on a platter, and surround the drink with small plastic bugs or even gummy worms! It really sets the scene for some good Nightmare Before Christmas fun!
