If ever there was a drink that screams Christmas, it’s a Peppermint Chocolate White Russian.
I’ve always enjoyed indulging in a delicious White Russian cocktail.
In fact, the first one I ever had was a twist on the classic recipe, and it included some Godiva chocolate liqueur.
So I have enjoyed trying to recreate that drink, and of course adding some yummy twists to it.
And I think you will enjoy this yummy chocolate white Russian with peppermint too.
Enjoy a Yummy Peppermint Chocolate White Russian
A White Russian has always been a dessert drink for me that I enjoy year round.
And this recipe is great served year round too, particularly if you love chocolate mint flavors.
But there is something about sticking a big fat peppermint stick or candy cane in this drink that makes it especially nice to enjoy during the winter holidays.
It’s so festive and decadent.
So grab your vodka and Kahlua, some yummy chocolate syrup, cream, and your favorite peppermint sticks or candy canes and enjoy.
It’s perfect to enjoy as an after dinner drink around the fire.
And we won’t tell if Santa asks for one of these to go with his plate of cookies…
Ingredients to make a Peppermint Chocolate White Russian:
Makes 2 drinks served over ice.
- 3 oz Vodka
- 3 oz Kahlua
- 2 oz heavy Cream
- 2 oz Ghirardelli Chocolate Syrup
- Candy Cane Sticks
How to Make a Peppermint Chocolate White Russian:
Pre-steps:
Fill your beverage glass with ice so that the glass will begin to chill.
Make the drink:
Add some ice to a cocktail shaker.
Pour all liquid ingredients into the shaker and shake thoroughly until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
Pour into your glass over ice.
Add a candy cane stick or two to the drink.
Enjoy!
Can I serve the drink in a large quantity? Like by the pitcher?
Absolutely!
Simply multiply your ingredients by how many servings you need, and you can serve it by the pitcher or by a beverage dispenser.
Just be sure to keep it well chilled since it’s a cream based drink.
You don’t want it to get warm. It could curdle.
Can I make the drink ahead of time?
You sure can!
You can make it a few hours ahead of time.
Be sure to keep it chilled in the refrigerator, and add the peppermint and ice at the time you serve the drink.
Can I make the drink frozen?
Oh yeah! And it’s so good frozen!
Throw some ice in the blender, add your liquid ingredients and a few pieces of peppermint.
Unless you really love peppermint, you don’t want to put the whole candy cane in the blender unless it’s a small one.
Breaking off a few pieces is ideal.
Pulse it until it reaches the consistency of a slushie, and you’ve got a delicious frozen drink.
It’s kind of like a frappe!
Can I add ice cream to make it a milkshake?
And we won’t tell if you decide to add a scoop of ice cream. Or two.
After all, White Russians are meant to be decadent.
Both vanilla and chocolate ice cream work great with this recipe.
A white Russian milkshake is so good!
