If you’ve stepped outside your front door lately, you know that the weather is starting to get a bit more chilly.
And what this means is that all things pumpkin need to be happening – like this Pumpkin Creme Brulee Latte.
Fall is a special time of the year when you can have pumpkin “something” for literally every meal or drink and no one can question or say anything about it.
This is why this Pumpkin Latte is one of our favorite fall drinks.
A Pumpkin Creme Brulee Latte like the one at Dunkin Donuts
The subtle pumpkin flavor topped with the sweet whipped cream and caramel syrup will have you wondering if this is a dessert, a drink, or both?!
And did I mention that this is a Dunkin Donuts copycat recipe?
It tastes literally the exact same!
And for the record, it’s a really good dupe for the ones at Starbucks and Dutch Bros too.
I think what I really love about this tasty recipe is that it just hits all my flavors and tastes.
I love being able to take a sip and know that it’s going to quench my thirst and give me a delicious treat, too.
There really isn’t anything better than that, right?
Since there are only 7 simple ingredients needed, it literally takes minimal effort and time to make.
For me, when time is short, I love knowing that I can create this tasty latte and have it ready asap.
And there’s really just no denying how well pumpkin and caramel go together.
It’s one of my favorite drink combinations!
Can you use other toppings for this drink?
For sure.
While I’m a huge fan of whipped cream and caramel, you can really top it with whatever you’d like.
In fact, why not try out other options?
Pumpkin and chocolate are a great combination too so you can really have a lot of fun with that tasty option.
It’s fun to put some of your favorite spices in a dusting wand and give it a light coating over the whipped cream.
Can I serve the drink frozen?
Sure!
If you’d like to enjoy it like a frappe, you can blend it with ice in your blender.
It’s a lot like the frozen one from Dutch Bros when you serve it frozen style, and it’s so good like that.
I like to let the coffee cool before blending so that the ice doesn’t melt fully.
You can even refrigerate it.
This is a really great way to use up coffee if you make too much too.
Enjoy one now that’s hot, and save the rest in the refrigerator to make into an ice blended coffee.
Ingredients for Pumpkin Creme Brulee Lattes
- Creme Brulee Coffee Beans
- Caramel Simple Syrup
- Pumpkin Pie Syrup
- Milk
- Whipped Topping
- Ground Cinnamon
To make the drink, you will need: an espresso maker, coffee bean grinder if using fresh beans, a measuring cup, a measuring spoon, cup for steaming the milk, a milk steamer, and a coffee mug.
Do I have to use creme brulee flavored coffee beans?
If you don’t have the creme brulee flavored coffee beans, you may use your favorite beans.
The drink will get a lot of flavor from the syrups and will still taste really nice.
Can I spike my coffee with alcohol?
Sure you can! If you would like to spike the drink, we like to add a shot of whiskey, bourbon, or spiced rum.
This would give it a whole new flavor and taste and add a bit of “warmth” to the drink as well!
And of course, since this drink has pumpkin and caramel flavors, you can also experiment with a variety of pumpkin or pumpkin spiced flavored liqueurs.
We also like to mix in a little caramel flavored liquor too, like Crown Royals’ Salted Caramel whisky or a salted caramel vodka.
I don’t really think that you need both a pumpkin and a caramel flavored liqueur at the same time as that may be overpowering, but feel free to experiment and see how you like it best.
If you decide to add a shot to spike the coffee, I like to pour the shot in the mug first, and then add the coffee and other ingredients to the mug so that it mixes well.
How to make a Pumpkin Creme Brulee Latte
Begin by grinding your coffee beans.
Since you’ll be making espresso, I like a coarse grind.
Then brew two shots of espresso.
You can use either an espresso machine or a moka pot.
In your mug, add both the caramel syrup and the pumpkin pie flavored syrup.
Pour the freshly brewed espresso over the two syrups and gently stir so that the syrups mix well with the espresso.
Next, you’ll steam a cup or so of milk.
If you’re using an extra large mug, you may want to steam a bit more.
Then using a milk frother, froth the milk.
Pour the frothed milk over the espresso and syrup mixture.
If you’d like, top off the drink with some whipped topping, caramel syrup, and a dusting of ground cinnamon.
To get a nice, even dusting, I like to use a dusting wand.
It helps keep the cinnamon from clumping and gives a really fine, sifted dusting over the drink.
