At first glance, a glass of Sparkling Electric Blue Lemonade may remind you of those blue freezer pops we’ve all eaten.
But the resemblance to those overly-sweet raspberry-flavored icy treats stops with the blue color.
In contrast, Sparkling Electric Lemonade delivers pure citrus refreshment.
We think you’ll love it as much as many have enjoyed our delicious Blue Margarita.
Enjoy a cool glass of electric blue lemonade
Lemonade dances playfully with vodka and the bitter-sweet orange delight of Blue Curacao.
It’s offering up a delightful cocktail that fits perfectly with hot summer days, backyard BBQs, and lazy days spent by the pool.
And with this blue lemonade’s gorgeous color, it fits right in sipping on one while lounging around the pool.
The beautiful blue color of Sparkling Electric Lemonade is festive and inviting.
Anyone who sees this pretty beverage is naturally curious.
Is it Kool-Aid? is the most common question.
And when you explain that it is actually orange-lemonade with a kick, don’t be surprised when they want one, too.
This delicious cocktail is friendly and approachable, making it a great choice for parties and special events.
Best of all, it’s also very easy to make, even in large batches.
And when you serve a drink with this much electric personality, you’ll really turn your party on!
And if limeade is more your thing, why not give our Jamaican lemonade a try?
It’s made with both lemons and limes.
Ingredients to make sparkling blue lemonade cocktail:
Makes 1 drink
4 oz Sparkling Lemonade
2 oz Blue Curacao
1 oz Vodka
1 tsp Lemon Simple Syrup (or to taste)
You will also need a mixing glass, a spoon, and a beverage glass.
If you are multiplying the recipe, you will also need a pitcher or beverage dispenser.
Note: You may use store bought sparkling lemonade, or you may make your own.
If you’re making homemade lemonade, we like to mix the drink with club soda to give it its effervescence.
For detailed instructions about how to make a homemade sparkling lemonade, please check out our recipe for Boozy Pink Lemonade Punch.
Rather than making it with pink lemonade, you’ll make it with regular lemonade.
You may also make fresh squeezed lemonade too.
If you’d like to do that, just be sure that you use the club soda in place of water so it’s nice and bubbly.
Can I make blue lemonade without the alcohol?
Yes, you certainly can.
You may omit the vodka and replace the blue curacao liqueur with blue curacao syrup.
We really like the blue cuaraco syrup from Monin.
It gives the drink the delicious blue color and has a nice orange flavor.
How to make blue lemonade drinks for a baby shower
I’ve got to tell you, this blue drink is perfect for serving in a large batch for a baby shower.
Whether you already know that it’s a boy or if you’re doing both pink and blue drinks for a baby shower or gender reveal party, this drink really hits the spot.
And it’s really easy to serve this blue vodka lemonade like a punch.
Here’s what to do.
Once you know how many servings you need, multiply the recipe.
Then either make it by the pitcher or in a large beverage dispenser or punch bowl.
And if you want a blue mocktail recipe for your baby shower, you can easily serve this drink without the alcohol or try one of our other fun blue drinks.
Those can easily be made as mocktails too!
Can I make blue punch ahead of time?
Yes, you can make most of the drink ahead of time.
What you’ll do is prepare the syrup, blue curacao, and vodka mixture ahead of time.
I like to do this the night before.
Then I put it in the refrigerator to keep it nice and cold.
Then, all you have to do when it’s time to serve is add the mixture to the sparkling lemonade and give it a stir.
It’s easy as pie!
Ideas for an ice ring for blue lemonade punch
If you want to make an ice ring for a punch bowl, I’ve always liked to make one with ingredients that add to the flavor.
Doing so not only keeps the punch cold, it also doesn’t water the drink down.
When making an ice ring to go with this blue lemonade punch, I like to add another ingredient for fun – blueberries!
It’s especially fun to add blueberries for a baby shower too!
So in my ice ring mold, I add slices of lemon and fresh blueberries and instead of water, I use lemonade.
I don’t use sparkling lemonade for the ice ring unless I’ve let the fizz evaporate.
I don’t include the vodka or blue curacao in the ice ring to help the ice ring freeze well.
But if I want the ice ring to be blue, I like to add a little bit of blue curacao syrup.
A quick note – while we love adding fresh blueberries to the ice, be sure not to mash them as they will turn the drink kind of purple.
How to make blue lemonade:
If you’re making your own sparkling lemonade, begin by preparing that according to the recipe.
I like my beverage glass to be nice and cold, so if you would like, fill your glass with ice water.
You will discard the ice water prior to serving.
Next, add the blue curacao, vodka, and lemon simple syrup to a mixing glass.
Stir them until they are well-combined.
Fill your beverage glass with fresh ice.
Carefully pour the mixture into your beverage glass.
Top the drink with sparkling lemonade and give it a gentle stir.
Add a cute cocktail umbrella if you’d like and serve.
