For my love of summer and sweet tea, today I’m excited to share some Sweet Tea Margaritas with you!

It’s a refreshing drink for the warmer days, combined with Peach Margarita Mix to provide a thirst-quenching adult beverage.

Enjoy sipping some delicious Sweet Tea Margaritas

There are so many variations to the classic margarita (take my Spicy Cucumber Margarita with Jalapenos for example).

And many ways in which to experiment with it to create an exceptional drink.

Taking a simple, everyday summer favorite like sweet tea as well as one of my favorite cocktails and combining the two was a no-brainer.

And oh boy am I glad I did!

A margarita next to a gallon of Milo's Famous sweet tea on a patterned napkin.
We used Milo’s Famous Sweet Tea in this recipe. We really like it! But if you have a favorite way of serving your iced tea, you can do that too.

The result yielded 2 Milo’s MargariTEAs (see what I did there) garnished with lime wedges and a sugar-coated glass  for additional sophistication and flavor.

There’s also nothing stopping you from making this drink in batches.

I’m sure a big pitcher of cold peach tea margs would be well received poolside on hot summer days for your larger social gatherings.

Or just for you and your girlfriends hanging out.

It’s perfect for cookouts, grilling, and tailgating too!

In a matter of minutes, you’ll get to enjoy the perfect flavor of summer!

Thanks to Milo’s for sharing their recipe and photos with us.

Ingredients:

  • Milo’s Famous Sweet Tea, or your favorite sweet tea recipe
  • Limes
  • Peach Margarita Mix
  • Silver Tequila
  • Sugar, for the glass

To make the drink, you’ll also need: a cutting board, bar knife, pitcher, bar spoon, plate or dish for sugaring the glass, and margarita glasses.

Variations on the recipe

Optionally, you can also add a splash of triple sec, Cointreau, or Grand Marnier if you want to add a touch of orange flavor like in a traditional margarita.

Then it’s kind of like a Sweet Tea Cadillac Margarita! YUM!

Also, if you’d like to add a touch of lemon since it goes so well with sweet tea, you can add a splash of fresh lemon juice to taste too.

Or you can add a splash of limoncello too for that great lemon taste.

Can I make these peach tea margaritas frozen?

Why not fire up the blender for some ice cold drinks?

You can add the ice along with the liquid ingredients and pulse the blender until you reach the desired consistency.

Personally, I like it kind of like a slushy.

Can I serve the drink without alcohol?

Yes! And you’ll have a delicious fruity sweet tea.

It’s really good.

The lime juice and the peach margarita mix adds a nice compliment to the sweet tea base.

You will omit the tequila of course.

But when you choose your peach margarita mix, be sure that you select one that’s non-alcoholic.

There are some nice flavored tequilas and pre-mixed fruit margaritas that are often sold near the drink mixes.

You don’t want to accidentally pick up one of the pre-mixed drinks if you’re planning to serve it as a mocktail.

This drink really is perfect for sipping outside. Whether you’re in the back yard, around the pool, on the deck, or sitting on the porch, it’s a great drink to enjoy while relaxing.

How to make margaritas with sweet tea:

Start by juicing your lime.

Then take a pitcher and add the sweet tea, fresh squeezed lime juice, peach margarita mix, and tequila.

Stir it well.

To sugar the glass, pour a small amount of sugar onto a plate or a small dish that’s wider than the glass.

I like to use a salad plate.

Run a lime wedge along the edge of the glass to moisten it.

Then dip the glass into the sugar.

The sugar will stick to the lime juice on the glass!

Fill the glasses with ice and pour the margarita mix into the glass.

You’ll want to pour half in each glass.

Garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy!
