Tequila Soaked Watermelon Slice Popsicles just scream summertime.

During the summer, I love to serve fresh watermelon. I mean, who doesn’t?

It’s such a sweet treat, and I really love it whether I’m eating it simply sliced, in a watermelon and feta salad, juice, or as something a bit more grown up.

These tequila soaked watermelon slice popsicles are not only fun, they are so easy to make.

And who doesn’t enjoy a slice of watermelon?

Especially when it’s a party melon!

These popsicles are pretty much a watermelon margarita — ON A STICK!

Enjoy a delicious watermelon tequila popsicle

When it’s hot outside, one of my favorite ways to cool of is with a juicy slice of fresh watermelon.

But when I’m also ready to have some party melon, I’m ready to soak it in some tequila!

And these watermelon tequila popsicles are as delicious as they are cute.

They’re great to serve all summer long, but I especially enjoy serving them for Memorial Day, Father’s Day, and July 4th cookouts.

But there’s no bad time really to enjoy some of these tasty treats.

Enjoy them when you’re cooling off by the pool or in your backyard.

And if you have kids around, make a batch without the tequila for them too.

Just soak theirs in the Sparkling Ice without the tequila.

Or just give them a slice of watermelon on a popsicle stick.

It’s tasty either way.

And you know what else is great about these popsicles?

They are low calorie! 94 calories! YES!

What you need to make tequila soaked watermelon sliced popsicles

I love it when a recipe doesn’t require a lot of complicated ingredients.

If you have a home bar, you probably already have these ingredients at home.

If not, they are easy to find at your local grocery or favorite liquor store.

If you don’t have any popsicle sticks, you can find food grade popsicle sticks on Amazon.

I like the smaller popsicle sticks better than the large ones.

The large ones feel more like a tongue depressor.

blankIngredients to make boozy watermelon popsicles:

¾ cup tequila½ cup Sparkling Ice Strawberry Watermelon

¼ cup lime juice

1 pound watermelon

You’ll also need these pieces of kitchen equipment: a cutting board, a knife, a bowl, and a measuring cup to make these popsicles.

Substitutions:

If tequila isn’t your liquor of choice, vodka or rum make an excellent substitution.

Watermelon soaked in vodka is tasty.

So is rum infused watermelon.

How to make watermelon tequila popsicles:

To make watermelon popsicles, you’ll first want to prepare your watermelon.

I like to use a long watermelon rather than a round one for these so that I can cut the watermelon in half lengthwise.

I’ll scoop out half of the watermelon to use to hold the popsicles (and save the flesh for other yummy treats).

The halved watermelon kind of makes a boat.

Then I cut the other half of the watermelon into wedges to make popsicles.

To cut the watermelon wedges, I like to cut the halved watermelon into slices and then cut the slice in half so that the slices are quartered.

How to infuse watermelon slices with alcohol

In a large bowl, or if it’s big enough, the other half of the watermelon, add the tequila, Sparkling Ice, and lime juice.

Put the slices into the liquid and let them sit for about 15 minutes.

Then add a popsicle stick to the watermelon wedge and put them on a wax paper lined baking sheet.

Put the baking sheet in the freezer for at least an hour.

Take them out and serve.

Or if you want to make it really pretty, line them up in the half of the watermelon for your display.

There’s something fun about using a fruit container to hold boozy fruit popsicles.

Enjoy and have fun!
