Inspired by Aquaman himself, enjoy sipping on a Golden Trident cocktail!
I know it’s been out for a while now, but let’s talk about the new Aquaman.
After all, we are talking about literal deep blue hero stuff, and I’m always a fan of that.
And there’s never a bad time to talk about Jason Momoa, a man that the whole country seems to have a huge crush on.
So I really felt like this heroic movie deserved an equally heroic cocktail.
Therefore, in honor of Aquaman, the Golden Trident came to be!
Aquaman’s Golden Trident
The story of Aquaman is actually the story of Atlantis and the scary King Orm who rules there.
He decides that ruling Atlantis just isn’t enough for him anymore, and he wants to take over everything.
But thankfully, he has a half-brother – Aquaman – who happens to be half human.
And he’s not about to let his power-hungry brother rule the world.
But in order to stop him, Aquaman needs to find the Trident of Atlan.
Well, of course, I have to do whatever it takes to help him, right?
So I created the Golden Trident from a delicious combination of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Gold Tequila, Triple Sec, orange juice, and Sprite.
The result is a sweet, refreshing drink that appears to glow with beautiful inner light.
For the ultimate fun, whip up a big batch of the Golden Trident to serve during your Aquaman watch party in your home theater.
Your guests will love it and I’m sure they will agree that this beautiful cocktail is truly a cocktail of heroes!
The Golden Trident Cocktail
Even though we have to wait until 2022 for another Aquaman movie, I think we’ll see plenty of little Aquamans running around for Halloween.
But us big kids need something fun too, so whether or not you’re into cosplay, you can always enjoy making a Golden Trident.
Ingredients you need to make the Golden Trident
Serves: 1 8oz glass
Ice
Spiced Rum – we used Captain Morgan
Gold Tequila
Triple Sec
Pulp Free Orange Juice
Sprite
Gold Cake Sprinkles or Gold Sanding Sugar
Simple Syrup
You will also need these kitchen tools: 2 small plates or bowls, beverage glasses, a cocktail shaker, and a jigger.
Can I serve the drink without alcohol?
Yes, you can!
It’s going to be kind of like a fancy, decorated orange juice, but you can give it the spritz treatment for fun.
Simply omit the rum and tequila, and increase the amount of Sprite.
It will make a yummy, fizzy OJ for the kids and those not drinking to enjoy.
And of course, you can always decorate their glass too!
I like to use a different color of sprinkles for the mocktail version of the drink.
Blue sprinkles are an excellent choice to stick with the Aquaman color scheme.
How to make the Golden Trident
Pour simple syrup on a small plate or bowl.
Pour your gold sprinkles in a separate plate or bowl .
Dip your glass into the simple syrup and then into the sprinkles.
Set to the side.
In a large bar shaker add your liquors, juice and sprite.
Shake to combine.
Pour into your glass filled with ice.
ENJOY!!
