The Highland Park Distillery is located in the beautiful Orkney Islands of Scotland.

And their single malt whiskey is as special as the Islands it was born in.

Easy Spiked Hot Chocolate

A Mug of hot chocolate on a wood slice with a bottle of Highland Park Magnus Scotch Whiskey.
When you spike your hot chocolate, you’re kind of making a chocolate hot toddy! How fun is that?

It’s like a chocolate hot toddy!

Named after the Viking man who created it from his own heart and mind – Magnus Eunson.

Highland Park Magnus gives this hot chocolate a smoky richness that must be tasted to be believed!

If you serve this to holiday guests, be sure to include the marshmallows.

Lightly brushed with Highland Park Magnus, dipped in coarse brown sugar and then lightly toasted, the marshmallow garnish for Highland Hot Chocolate is simply amazing.

The colder months are the perfect time to enjoy hot cocoa.

Highland Hot Chocolate is not only a wonderfully-adult hot chocolate toddy, it seems like it’s all dressed up for a fancy party.

You can’t help but feel a bit special when you drink it.

And when you read more (below) about the history of this fine scotch whiskey, you might feel a bit naughty too!

Thanks for our friends at Highland Park Whiskey and Lauren MacDougall for sharing their recipe with us.

Highland Park’s distillery is in the Orkney Islands.

The story behind Highland Park’s scotch whiskey is quite interesting.

Particularly if you have an interest in Viking lore and illicit stills.

The company claims to have been making whiskey since 1798.

But really, that’s just the year the authorities caught up with its founder, Viking descendant Magnus Eunson, and his illicit still.

So if you like a little naughty with your nice during the holidays, raise a glass with some Highland Park.

You won’t be disappointed as just this year, this single malt scotch earned medals.

It won medals at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the Ultimate Spirits Challenge, the International Spirits Challenge, and at the Beverage Testing Institute.

If you’re looking for a creamy chocolate hot toddy, you can make this drink with milk rather than water and substitute Bailey’s Irish Cream or Godiva’s Chocolate Liqueur. Both are excellent variations for this recipe.
