Learn how to easily make Mashed or Smashed Sweet Potatoes in the Air Fryer! This recipe is a healthy side dish and is so simple to make. It's perfect to serve any time of year, but we especially enjoy serving this dish for Thanksgiving. It's a tasty, healthier alternative to sweet potato casserole with marshmallows.
2-4Medium Sweet Potatoes Scrubbed, Rinsed, and Dried
2-4teaspoonsOlive Oil
½cupButter(One Stick)
1/2-3/4cupMilk Depending on the Desired Consistency
Instructions
Rub clean potatoes with olive oil.
2-4 Medium Sweet Potatoes, 2-4 teaspoons Olive Oil
Place potatoes on air fryer rack or in basket leaving space between and without stacking.
Cook at 400 degrees for 50 minutes, using tongs to flip halfway. Potatoes will be crisp on the outside and soft on the inside when done. Remove from air fryer and cool slightly to touch.
Remove skins from sweet potatoes and place potatoes in a large bowl.
Add butter to potatoes and beat with an electric mixer to combine. Slowly add milk and continue mixing until desired consistency is reached.
1/2 cup Butter, 1/2-3/4 cup Milk
Serve with additional butter, cinnamon, maple syrup, or other desired toppings.
