Ingredients to Make the Dowager Countess's Cherry and Peach Trifle
1Angel Food CakeStore-Bought
2cupsFresh Cherries
4White PeachesMedium
⅓cupLight Brown Sugar
1tspVanilla Extract
Note: You may make the angel food cake yourself as well, either from scratch or a mix. The star of this recipe is the fresh fruit. As long as the cake is fresh, it will be perfect.

Instructions to Make The Dowager Countess's Cherry and Peach Trifle
Remove stems and pits from cherries.
Cut in half.
Remove skin and pits from peaches.
Cut into bite-sized pieces, about the same size as the cherry halves.
Add cherries, peaches, brown sugar and vanilla extract to a pot/pan.
Cook over medium heat until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
Meanwhile, cut angel food cake into small cubes.
Choose your serving dish(es).
Start assembling your dessert by first adding angel food cake cubes.
Next, add fruit once cooled down.
Optional: serve with ice cream and a dollop of fresh whipped cream.
