Instant Pot Honey Garlic Steak Bites

A blue plate filled with honey garlic steak bites and asparagus.

You start out with a nice piece of London Broil, a cut of meat that can be tricky, but is absolutely delicious when cooked right.

Fortunately, the Instant Pot is the perfect tool for making London Broil that melts in your mouth.

Combine that with seasonings like garlic, teriyaki, soy, and honey and you’ve got a flavor explosion that will have your whole family smiling!

Serving Ideas for Honey Garlic Steak Bites

I love the flexibility of these Instant Pot Honey Garlic Steak Bites.

These are absolutely delicious when served over rice.

But if you are eating keto or low carb, you can leave out or reduce the honey and serve this up with vegetables like riced cauliflower or grilled asparagus.

They also make a great appetizer.

These yummy bites are really popular at our Super Bowl parties and other tailgating events in particular.

I like to serve them as appetizers on skewers like mini kabobs or on toothpicks like how I would serve a cocktail meatball.

If you make a batch, I would love to hear how you served them up.

Please let me know in the comments below.

Can you call them teriyaki steak bites?

When you look at the ingredients, you may wonder why we named them honey garlic rather than teriyaki steak bites or Asian steak bites.

Well, that’s because honey is the dominant seasoning.

But you’ll definitely pick up the yummy teriyaki and soy flavors along with the garlic and sweetness from the honey.

So call them whatever you prefer, but you’ll be sure to enjoy them.

These steak bites are delicious!

Can I use the sauce recipe for other dishes?

You sure can!

In fact, you may love their flavor so much that you may want to make the sauce to use with other dishes.

We do that a lot.

I like to multiply the sauce ingredients to make enough to make a pint, and I save it to use as a steak sauce, condiment to add some oomph to some veggies and rice, or even as a yummy honey garlic marinade for other meats.

It’s great on chicken too, btw.

Ingredients you need to make Instant Pot Honey Garlic Steak Bites

  • 1 London Broil Steak

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 to 5 tablespoons honey

How to make Honey Garlic Steak Bites in the Instant Pot

In Process shot of a London Broil being cut into bite sized pieces on a red cutting board.

Slice steak into bite size pieces.

When you cut the London Broil, try to cut the meat into as evenly sized pieces as possible.

The more consistent they are, the more consistently they will cook.

Turn the instant pot on saute mode.

Saute steak bites with olive oil.

Turn off saute mode.

Pour in 2 tablespoons teriyaki and 1 tablespoon soy sauce.

Toss with 1 tablespoon garlic.

The liquid from the steak bites being sauteed along with the sauce is enough to bring it to pressure.

Set to high pressure for 15 minutes.

Once the instant pot is done counting then quick release pressure.

Drain off the liquid. Add in remaining soy sauce and teriyaki.

Toss with remaining garlic.

Add in honey and stir well.

This can be done on saute mode to keep the sauces warm.

Serve!

Other ways to cook beef bites

If you want to enjoy these delicious beef bites but don’t have an Instant Pot or other pressure cooker, you can make them on the stove top or in a slow cooker.

You will cut  your beef and prepare the sauce the same way as you do in the recipe.

Make steak bites in a skillet

On the stove top, I heat my skillet (I prefer cast iron), and add a touch of olive oil to the pan.

Once the pan is hot, I add the beef and brown the beef bites on all sides.

I like to serve mine medium, so I use a thermometer to see if the internal temp is at 160.

Then I remove them from the skillet and brush them with the honey garlic teriyaki sauce.

Make steak bites in the slow cooker

To make our honey garlic  beef  in the slow cooker, again, you will cut the meat and prepare your sauce as described in the recipe.

If you like using a crock pot liner, line your pot.

Then add the beef and sauce ingredients to the crock pot and stir to evenly coat the beef bites and cover with the lid.

You’ll want to cook them for either 8 hours on low OR for 4 hours on high. Then enjoy your crockpot steak bites!
