This boozy black cherry float has a lot of nostalgia for me.
When I was a kid, one of my favorite summer time treats was to sip on either a coke or a root beer float.
Oh, they were so good, and just thinking about them brings back some great memories.
Enjoy a boozy black cherry float
Our boozy black cherry float recipe is perfect for your summer time refreshment.
You can also make it as a mocktail too!
Who says the kids get to have all of the fun?
I still enjoy a float.
And while the traditional combinations are still well-beloved, I do enjoy experimenting with something new.
And that’s where our boozy black cherry float comes in.
It’s so tasty and simple to make.
There’s something so tasty about the combination of black cherry and vanilla ice cream.
Throw in some wine for good measure, and it’s even more delicious!
And even better?
You can make some for yourself and your friends with sparkling wine, and if your kids want some too, you can easily leave out the wine and just add a bit more Sparkling Ice.
There’s just two ounces of sparkling wine in each serving, so it’s an ideal recipe if you’re enjoying some day drinking.
And using the Sparkling Ice also helps to keep the calories down.
How to serve a black cherry ice cream float
We like to make these drinks by the individual glass, but it also makes an excellent punch!
The flavors are so delightful, and frankly, the colors are so sweet and romantic too.
It makes it an excellent option for a baby or bridal shower.
Or even for a gender reveal party!
Simply multiply the recipe based on how many servings you’ll need and the capacity of your punch bowl.
If you’d like to serve it in a punch bowl, be sure to follow the instructions about the order you add things.
It makes a difference.
Add the sparkling wine first.
Then scoop the ice cream.
The add a touch of the Sparkling Ice.
Be sure to leave a little room at the top of the punch bowl because there will be a little bit of fizzing.

Can I make this float without alcohol?
Yes, you sure can!
It’s easy to make this float without the booze.
In place of the sparkling white wine, you may substitute sparkling grape juice.
But if you’re also looking to reduce your calories, you may substitute it with club soda or even a diet lemon lime soda.
Directions:
Whenever you’re making a float, it’s a good idea to put the liquid in first to keep the ice cream from making a big mess.
If you do it the other way around, the ice cream and the sparkling beverage will make a lot of foam.
Trust us, this is the voice of experience speaking here.
Start by chilling your glass by filling it with some ice water until it’s time to serve.
When it’s time, simply pour out the ice water.
Then pour your chilled sparkling wine into the glass.
If your ice cream is firm, you may want to run your scoop under a bit of warm water.
Then scoop two scoops and add it to the glass over the wine.
Top with just a smidge of the Black Cherry Sparkling Ice.
And if you’d like, garnish it with a sprig of fresh lavender.
