When you first hear the name Coca-Cola Coffee, you might think that it sounds like the ultimate caffeine overload.
And the kind of beverage college students might drink when cramming for a final.
But read on, because Coca-Cola Coffee is so much more than that!
Coca Cola goes great with Coffee-Flavored Liqueurs
Despite the name, you aren’t really mixing your Coca-Cola with regular coffee.
Instead, you mix it up with your choice of coffee-flavored liqueur – giving your delicious drink a bit of a kick.
And when you add in some whipped cream and a Maraschino cherry on top, you end up with a delicious and refreshing drink that tastes a bit like a boozy cream soda.
You’ve got to try this!
Can you make the drink with fewer calories and carbs?
Sure you can!
This recipe is pretty flexible, too.
If you are watching your sugar or carbs, you can make your own sugar-free whipped cream and use Diet Coke.
If you make it with Diet Coke, the drink has only 100 calories.
If you make it with regular Coke, it has 169 calories.
If you want to make sugar-free whipped cream, some of the sugar substitutes I like to use are powdered monk fruit, powdered allulose, or powdered erythritol.
They are all great sugar substitutes and people on the keto diet really like them too!
If you’d rather not have the alcohol, simply substitute some coffee syrup or a shot of espresso instead.
And if you don’t like Maraschino cherries?
Well, that’s just silly. Who doesn’t love Maraschino cherries? LOL
Well, actually — a lot of people don’t like them.
But you can leave the cherry off if that floats your boat.
Coca Cola Coffee
Making Coca Cola Coffee is so easy, and it tastes so good.
You’re basically making a boozy coffee flavored cream soda if you stir in the whipped cream too.
It’s perfect to serve any time of year, and you can make it with regular Coke or with Diet Coke if you need to keep the calories and carbs down.
I used Kavlana’s Coffee Liqueur, and you can also make it with Tia Maria, Kahlua, or Copa de Oro.
All of them will make a really yummy drink and taste great topped with whipped cream and a cherry.

Ingredients you need to make Coca Cola Coffee
- Coca Cola
- Coffee flavored liqueur (I used Kavlana Coffee Liquer, but I also really like Tia Maria in this recipe)
- Whipped Cream
- Maraschino Cherry
Make it a Mocktail instead
It’s really easy to make our Coca Cola coffee without alcohol.
Simply substitute some coffee flavored syrup instead of the liqueur and make everything else the same way.
If you’d rather not use syrup, you can substitute a shot of espresso for the coffee liqueur.
How to make the Coca Cola Coffee
This drink is easiest to make in the glass you plan to serve it in.
You’ll need a long skinny bar spoon too.
In fact, if you have the kind of spoon that can be slowly rotated by rubbing your hands back and forth, that’s the perfect way to blend this drink.

Coca Cola Coffee
Equipment
- Highball Glass
- Measuring Cup
- Jigger
- Bar Spoon
Ingredients
- 6 oz Coca Cola
- 1 oz Coffee Liqueur
- Whipped Cream to top the drink
- Maraschino Cherry for garnish
Instructions
- This drink is easiest to make in the glass you plan to serve it in. I like a tall glass for this drink. You will need a long mixing spoon.
- First, pour your coffee liqueur in the bottom of your glass.
- Top with Coca Cola. I use about 6 ounces, but depending on the size of your glass, leave about an inch of room from the top for whipped cream.
- Stir gently with your mixing spoon.
- Top with whipped cream.
- Garnish with a maraschino cherry on top and enjoy!

We made this with Tia Maria, like you suggested, since that’s what we had! It was really good with that! I’ll give it a try again with the Kahlua someday.
