Boozy Pineapple Dole Whip Rum Popsicles
Dole Whip is just so good, so whenever I get the chance, I want to enjoy some.
Especially when it’s hot outside, so of course, I just love our Dole Whip popsicle recipe.
But DIY Dole Whip drinks are something I love too.
So why not beat the heat with some popsicles followed up with a Pineapple Dole Whip Margarita or some yummy Lime Dole Whip Cocktails like mojitos, daiquiris, and margs?
Ingredients you need to make homemade Rum Dole Whip Popsicles
Makes 4 popsicles
- 2 1/2 cups frozen pineapple
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup rum (pineapple rum or silver rum works well)
Note: we really like how Malibu’s Pineapple Rum tastes with this recipe.
It’s really nice.
Kitchen tools you need to make the popsicles
You will also need a popsicle mold.
The one we used is the Zoku Classic Pop Mold.
I like that it has a drip guard to catch any melting.
You’ll also need a blender.
You can use a full size blender or an immersion blender for this recipe.
We’ve used both, and they both work well, though it’s easier to use the blender if you’re making a big batch.
Can I make the popsicles without alcohol?
Sure, you absolutely can.
What you’ll want to do is omit the rum and replace the rum’s lost volume.
If you wish to have a touch of the rum flavor, you may add in a couple of drops of rum extract to the blender.
You will also want to add an extra 1/3 cup of milk to replace the volume so that you will have enough mixture to fill the popsicle molds.
How to make Boozy Pineapple Dole Whip Rum Popsicles
It’s easy to make these popsicles in the blender.
You’ll start by adding your frozen pineapple chunks, milk, and rum to the blender.
Pulse the blender a few times until the fruit is well-blended with the rum and milk.
The consistency should be nice and smooth.
Place your popsicle molds so that the opening is pointing up.
Carefully pour the blended pineapple mixture into the molds.
Leave a little bit of room at the top for expansion.
Now it’s time to freeze the popsicles.
I like to put them on a tray or in a container in case any sloshes out while I’m putting them in the freezer.
To get the best result, you will want to freeze the pops overnight.
Pro Tip: If you need to keep them cold for a while before serving outside of the freezer, be sure to lay them on a tray of ice.

Can I use a non dairy milk?
Hi Andy, Thanks for your question. Yes, there is a non-dairy alternative. What you want to do is use full-fat coconut milk. You’ll want to chill it for at least an hour before making the popsicles. You’ll also want to discard the coconut water as well so it will be creamy. I don’t recommend substituting a nut milk in this recipe; the flavors don’t really work well together, but the pineapple and coconut together are just perfect. It’s kind of like a cross between dole whip and a pina colada.
